History of Thailand:

In Thailand, the first state known Thai, is dated to the thirteenth century, at the time of the Buddhist kingdom of Sukhothai.
The birth of the Kingdom of Thai which is now Thailand reconciles with the collapse of the Khmer Empire from neighboring countries such as Cambodia between the thirteenth and fifteenth centuries. This fact allowed by a hand the permanence of identity and on the other hand, the most ancient monuments remained unchanged.
In 1932, in the twentieth century, there is a peaceful revolt in Thailand and the monarchy in the country was restored after World War II. Thailand sided with the countries that lost the war, although this does not imply major changes since the country remained stable.

It has several legends that explain how the pigs got there: are said that the pigs have been dropped off on Big Major Cay by a group of sailors who wanted to come back and cook them. The sailors, though, never returned; the pigs survived on excess food dumped from passing ships. One other legend has it that the pigs were survivors of a shipwreck and managed to swim to shore, while another claims that the pigs had escaped from a nearby islet. Others suggest that the pigs were part of a business scheme to attract tourists to the Bahamas. The pigs are now fed by locals and tourists.
