Population: 82,7 million

Territory: 442,6km²

History:  Before Christopher Columbus' arrival the land was habited by the Ciboney. The first settlers were Spanish and French, but in 1632 the British took over.

Industry: Tourism, Construction, light manufacturing

Food: Meals tend to range in price from $10 to $30. The national dish is Fungee, which is a cornmeal and okra pudding, served as breakfast, or main entreé for dinner. Other local favorites is Ducana, Pepperpot Stew, Souse and Callalo.
