Somalia
Republic, is a country located in Africa, the popularly named region
''Horn of Africa''. Despite its current political and social problems
is a very interesting country to visit. To your best knowledge of the
country, we will bring you some important aspects of the same.
The
official language is Somali, English and Italian used sporadically.
The country has a population of about 10 million people, and 99.9%
followers of the Islamic religion.
After
the strong influence of World War II and the civil war in 1991, the
political situation in Somalia is divided into warlords who dominate
several areas of the country.
Unfortunately
the economic crisis, corruption and cost of anti-insurgency
activities, cause great hardship to the population. Hunger is a
matter very present in the country, with people coming to die of
malnutrition throughout the region.

What
we see in Somalia is a feudal mentality, leveraged by tribal concepts
of honor and shame, where women are literally mutilated in the name
of morality.
The
biggest cultural influence is Islamic. In fact the very laws of Islam
limit entertainment conditions in the country. Many things are
forbidden. Festivals, theatrical performances and traditional Western
music are not permitted in Somalia. A practice that international
authorities want to abolish the country is female circumcision, flag
raised by Somali model Waris Dirie.

As
we can see Somalia is not a country that is conducive to a classic
tourism, but for the absorption of new political, religious and
social knowledge. And especially to experience another world view in
which the Somali live.
