One of the most important Brazilian Historical monuments such as Ruínas de São Miguel belong , in truth , to the world. UNESCO-listed as World Cultural Heritage , are almost on the Rio Grande border with Argentina and were legacies left by the Jesuit missions in the 17th century .
What to do during the day?
You can explore the ruins : The construction of the church began in 1735 and was attended by over a hundred Guarani workers. Of the original plan , there are traces of the school, the house of priests and the cemetery. In the old sacristy displays a video with the computerized reconstruction of the old village.
Visit the Museum of the Missions : There is Brazil's largest collection of sculptures of saints made by Indians or brought from Europe .
Appreciate the work done by the Indians : They are usually found on the museum door selling handicrafts. A small group lives outside in bamboo houses, mud and thatched roof .
What to do during the night?
Spectacle Som e Luz: After dark , the ruins seen stage for the exciting presentation, which lasted nearly an hour, the beautiful spectacle Som e Luz (Sound and Light) which tells the story of the place.
