Dominican Republic, Punta Cana
Punta Cana, named after a local cape, is a region in the easternmost tip of the Dominican Republic. Covering about 4,200,000 m2 (about 1,100 acres), the region is home to a coastline of sandy white beaches and to a town of the same name. A region once named Punta de Borrachón was merged with Punta Cana by the founding investors in 1969.
With calm and
clear waters , Punta Cana is an ideal place for those who want to dive and know
the marine life in the Caribbean - the hotels themselves have shops that rent
equipment such as snorkel, mask and fins . The fish are visible even from the
beach - if you do not want to dive . For the more adventurous , Punta Cana
offers tours tourists with a lot of adrenaline to dive with the sharks and also
trips to visit regions of the caves of Blue Hoyo , Cueva del Padre Nuestro and
Laguna Pepe and shipwrecks as Captain Kidd and Astron . The dives are always on
the list of what to do in Punta Cana.
Everyone has
wanted to swim dolphins and Punta Cana can realize this dream in Dolphin Island
Park which is located in the tourist area of Bavaro . The encounter with
friendly dolphins takes place in a pool at sea about 30 minutes. It is not
allowed to photograph this amazing adventure with your own camera - is a
Dolphin Island Park photographer who records all the time for you and after the
meeting , you get a DVD with photographs. The Dolphin Island Park also includes
shows of dolphins and sea lions. A tour that can not be left out of the list of
what to do in Punta Cana.
The Sancocho is
undoubtedly one of the most popular dishes of Punta Cana and the Dominican
Republic , and like the Spanish stew , made on the basis of bananas, yucca ,
soups ... vegetables and meat , meats like pork chops or chicken. In all
Dominicans dishes we found the white rice.
